NBA Fast Break Run 3 | Day 8
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 12 Three Pointers Made and 45 Rebounds to earn your win.
Overview:
Fast Break Day 7 was a nail-biter for many participants until the final games. A little over 30% walked away happy whereas the remainder are left blaming one or two players for the loss. Surprisingly, the Fast Break Dud of the Day Award goes to Jayson Tatum, who scored a measly 16 points in one of the early games, which put pressure on any lineups who used him (46% of lineups). Kyrie Irving (19 points) is an honorable mention as many included him in their lineup expecting a big scoring display as Luka was out due to injury…but he did not live up to those expectations. On the other hand, the Fast Break Stud of the Day goes to Giannis as he delivered another high scoring output with 37 points for 36% of lineups, which balanced out most poor performances on the day. Joker was a close second after contributing 33 points and his fifth triple-double in a row.
Of the 7,800+ participants, we are down to 133 perfect records, which means six (6) wins so far pushes you within or within reach of the top 200. Including today, there are five (5) game days remaining so we are in the home stretch. Review your remaining days and confirm whether there are better options to swap in or out based on players who have or will soon return from injury. For today (and beyond), check back regularly to review the projections and stats to ensure you are putting forth your best lineup based on your remaining options.
Let’s dive into the specifics.
Today’s Objective(s):
Fast Break Day 8 requires five (5) players who will drain 12 or more Three Pointers and gather 45 or more Rebounds, which means your lineup will need an average of 2.4 3PM and 9.0 REB per player. There are few players who are deadly from outside and can rebound at a high volume, so your best approach will be to utilize a player or two who can deliver both stats and think moneyball the remaining gaps. KAT, Wemby, and Markkanen fit the mold of dual threat based on today’s stats with Wemby getting the edge based on recent performance; however, may be 1) unavailable in your collection considering his least expensive moment is $99 and 2) is coming off a multi-game absence due to injury. Alternatively, KAT can deliver about 2-3 3PM per game and snatch 10+ rebounds for the Knicks.
Between the two objectives, both can pose a challenge if you ignore one or the other, but the volume of rebounds will create some anxiety for many lineups.
Little of Both: Karl-Anthony Towns, Victor Wembanyama
Outside Snipers: Stephen Curry, Anfernee Simons, Lauri Markkanen, LaMelo Ball
Board Crashers: Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic, Nikola Vucevic, Victor Wembanyama, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Josh Hart
Top Five (5) Players in Lineups: K. Towns (53%), M. Porter (45%), N. Jokic (38%), S. Curry (35%), N. Vucevic (34%)
Upcoming Objective(s):
Tomorrow, 15 free throws made & 25 assists will be the objectives and 12 teams are in action
Objectives after Today: FTM, BLK, STL, AST-TO, AST, PTS, 3PM
Considerations:
Eight (8) teams have two games remaining and the rest have three (3) games remaining
Chicago, Denver, Golden State, Houston, Milwaukee, & Portland are all playing the tail end of a back-to-back
Boston & Miami are the only two teams not playing on final day
Day 12 have 20 or more teams in action
Day 11 is the always volatile and difficult to predict Assists minus Turnovers objective
Aside from Day 11, every day requires two objectives

Tome Society’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):
Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.
It was a dicey until the final game thanks to a poor performance by Brandon Ingram who was subbed in when Embiid was ruled out. Thanks to Giannis, Jaylen, and Fox who came alive in the second half after a rough first half, we earned win #5 on this run. We go for the mid tier pack tomorrow, which comes with 3 more Grail Seeker packs.
