NBA Fast Break Run 3 | Day 2

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 130 Points Scored to earn your win.

Overview:

Run 3 started off with a sputter as Sabonis was initially included in over 80% of lineups, but ended up being a late scratch which had some participants scrambling. Considering 40% of lineups still had him in their lineups by the end of the night, you can see why only 37% of the over 5,000 participants secured the coveted win. Giannis led the way with 12 assists & 15 rebounds (providing almost 50% of both stats), followed by RJ Barrett with 15 assists & 10 rebounds, and Jayson Tatum with 9 assists & 11 rebounds. Without Wemby (who was also an unexpected scratch), Chris Paul struggled to reach the projected assists (3 assists) which hurt the 51% who started him. Lastly, LeBron had four consecutive triple-doubles where he averaged 12.0 rebounds & 13.8 assists…only to deliver 7 rebounds & 5 assists yesterday.

The next three days of Fast Break Run 3 will only have one objective needed per day, so the path to a win is more straightforward which allows for a higher probability for wins. With 20 teams in action today, you also have more options to choose from but you don’t have much room for error on a points scored night.

If you earned a win on Day 1, you’re ahead of the curve. If you were one of the 63% who didn’t, let’s turn it around for Day 2. Our “Common Challenge” is also filled out, which you can follow along to see how we do using a player only once (regardless of whether we have a rare or not). We’ve been asked whether we could set up something where you can participate, so that’s something we may explore in the future. In the meantime, check back to see how we do (last run we won 8 of 12 days).

Tome Society’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Starting Run 3 with the dreaded one point loss. We swapped out Sabonis for RJ Barrett, which turned out to be a fruitful decision, but Wemby being out led to Chris Paul being lackluster in the Assists department. AD & LBJ were below their average and projections, too. Oh well, onward to Day 2 where we hope to turn it around.
