NBA Fast Break Run 3 | Day 3

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 15 Three Pointers Made to earn your win.

Overview:

Day 1 of Run 3 had 37% winners and Day 2 continues that trend as only 25% of participants walked away with a win. Joker & Luka were ruled out, so Cam Thomas, Jalen Brunson, Devin Booker, Kyrie Irving, & Trae Young were common replacements. The first two did not pan out considering Cam provided 16 points whereas Brunson landed at 12 points, but Booker delivered 40+ and Kyrie/Trae delivered 20+ apiece. Any one player could have derailed your day and Day 3 is no different considering the 15 three pointers needed to earn the win.

Three Pointers are relatively easy to come by considering the focus on that shot throughout the league, but you’ll want to utilize players who have a tendency to take a lot of 3s per game. For players like Steph Curry and Tyler Herro, they fit that mold. Based on how Day 1 & 2 have gone, there are no assurances so you’ll want to fill your roster with reliable three point shooters. Let’s dive into the day’s projections.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 3 requires five (5) players who will make 15 or more Three Pointers, which means your lineup will need an average of 3.0 3PM per player. Today has a single objective, so it’s straightforward but it doesn’t necessarily mean it is easier. The cream of the crop is Steph Curry and although he’s no guarantee, he along with Herro & Ice Trae have shot a high volume of three pointers and maintains a healthy level of accuracy.

  • Outside Snipers: Stephen Curry, Tyler Herro, Trae Young

  • Top Five (5) Players in Lineups: T. Herro (73%), S. Curry (69%), B. Hield (63%), J. Poole (59%), N. Powell (54%)

Upcoming Objective(s):

  • Tomorrow, 40 field goals made will be the single objective with 12 teams in action

  • Objectives after Today:

    • 2x: AST, PTS, 3PM

    • 1x: FGM, PIP, OREB, FGA, FTM, BLK, STL, AST-TO, REB

Considerations:

  • Teams with the most number of games remaining (6): Chicago, Golden State, Houston, Indiana, LA Clippers, & Orlando

  • Teams with the least number of games remaining (4): Boston, Cleveland, Miami, Minnesota, Oklahoma City, & Phoenix

  • Ten (10) teams today are playing the tail end of a back-to-back

  • Day 6 has the least number of teams in action (8)

  • Day 12 have 20 or more teams in action

  • Day 11 is the always volatile and difficult to predict Assists minus Turnovers objective

  • Five of the twelve days have a single objective, which are more straightforward

That’s two losses on Run 3 and Day 2 was self-inflicted. I had Booker in my lineup…but I didn’t set my lineup before the first game where Phoenix was playing Minnesota. With Joker & Luka both out also, we went with Norman Powell, who did not crest 20 points. Breaking the losing streak on Day 3.
