NBA Fast Break Run 3 | Day 4

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 40 Field Goals Made to earn your win.

Overview:

The Fast Break Run 3 trend continues as players who historically excel in certain stat categories have off-nights when it counts. The playbook for success has been avoiding these landmines as they have proven their ability to sink lineups. The Fast Break Dud of Day Award belongs to Tyler Herro who was used in 67% of lineups, but only produced two (2) three pointers after dropping seven (7) the previous night. Honorable mention goes to Trae Young who had an outstanding day distributing the ball (19 assists), but fell well short of yesterday’s objective where he contributed zero three pointers after making five on Nov. 17th and four the game before. Zach LaVine, Coby White, Norman Powell, and/or Steph Curry saved the day for many participants, resulting in 56% winners which is the highest percentage of this run (so far).

Of the 6,700+ participants, we are already down to 360 who are a perfect 3 of 3 and they have earned their first Grail Seeker pack (low ask $5 in the marketplace). Once you reach six (6) wins, you’ll earn three (3) more Grail Seeker packs which would be a $20 value if you flipped. With nine (9) days remaining, the top pack reward is still within reach even if you have no wins under your belt, but it is a steep hill to climb considering the upcoming objectives (but not impossible). Let’s dive into today’s projections and top player options.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 4 requires five (5) players who will make 40 or more Field Goals, which means your lineup will need an average of 8.0 FGM per player. Today has a single objective and although it is straightforward, you’ll need to treat today like you would on points scored days considering two and three pointers are treated the same. High volume shooters who have decent accuracy will rule the day with an advantage to players who have a tendency to score from the paint.

Based on last 10 games, Joker, Anthony Davis, and LaMelo Ball are your top three options. Based on Rotowire projections, SGA, Luka, and Joker are your top three options. If you’re planning to use Joker or Luka, be sure to check the injury report as both sat out their previous game.

  • Bucket Getters: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Anthony Davis, LaMelo Ball

  • Top Five (5) Players in Lineups: A. Davis (74%), B. Ingram (53%), K. Irving (51%), J. Tatum (47%), J. Brown (44%)

Upcoming Objective(s):

  • Tomorrow, 45 points in the paint and 10 offensive rebounds will be the objectives and 16 teams are in action

  • Objectives after Today:

    • 2x: AST, PTS, 3PM

    • 1x: PIP, OREB, FGA, FTM, BLK, STL, AST-TO, REB

Considerations:

  • Teams with the most number of games remaining (5): 16 Teams

  • Teams with the least number of games remaining (3): Miami & Phoenix

  • No teams today are playing the tail end of a back-to-back

  • Day 6 has the least number of teams in action (8)

  • Day 12 have 20 or more teams in action

  • Day 11 is the always volatile and difficult to predict Assists minus Turnovers objective

  • Six of the remaining eight days have two objectives

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected Field Goals Made according to Rotowire, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. When there is a single objective, the three data points are still used to stack rank the players vs. ranking solely on projections. For tome+ subscribers, projected rest-of-season stats are available in the provided data file. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Rewards:

  • Daily Reward: Top 50 each day will receive a Fast Break Rookie Debut pack

  • Milestone Reward: Reach 3, 6, or 9 wins and each tier earns you a pack

    • 3 wins: One (1) Grail Seeker pack

    • 6 wins: Three (3) Grail Seeker packs

    • 9 wins: Fast Break pack

  • Run Reward: Place in the top 200 overall

    • Rank 1: Two (2) tickets to the NBA Cup Finals in Las Vegas including airfare and hotel

    • Rank 2-200: Spendable credit at varying values

Tome Society’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

First win of Run 3! Zach LaVine & Coby White led the way and helped us break the losing streak. Onward to Day 4 where we look for our second dub.
