NBA Fast Break Run 2 | Day 4

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 35 Rebounds to earn your win.

Overview:

Day 3 proved to be more challenging than anticipated considering less than 45% of participants earned a win (of the 6,600+ participants, only 86 remain perfect on the run). Players who have shown an ability to draw fouls and/or drain buckets from outside struggled to reach their projected thresholds (looking at you Booker (2 FTM, 2 3PM) & Maxey (1 FTM, 1 3PM (injured hamstring)). Along the way though, we were treated with some exciting games like the Charlotte game winner over Detroit (Brandon Miller #ForTheWin perhaps?), Denver’s come back win vs. a strong Oklahoma City team (Joker’s #VideoGameNumbers with his 23-20-16 stat line?), and Golden State’s nail biter against Boston. Let’s not forget about Ja Morant’s 2x acrobatic layups yesterday that’ll likely become a moment in the near future and potentially stuffed in an upcoming pack.

While we’re on the topic of packs, there will be an NBA Top Shot Premium pack drop today, which will look different than it has in prior years. In this drop, there will be a blend of rare and legendary moments across Holo Icon, Metallic Gold LE, Throwdowns, For the Win, and Denied! sets. For $29 per pack, you’ll receive 5 moments. As the season progresses and once we reach 5 moments for various sets, a set challenge will open for completion. In addition, there will be an expert challenge for each set and opportunities for trade-in auctions, crafting challenges, etc. Although not perfect as we are in the midst of an iterative product, it is a positive sign of the overall direction of NBA Top Shot. As for today, we are back to a single objective. Although there are only 3 games on the slate, they’re filled with blue blood rebounders. Considering the single objective and multiple players who can easily corral 9+ rebounds, we should see a much higher win percentage today. Let’s maximize your chances at being on the right side of that outcome by ensuring you have enough quality rebounders in your lineup to get you over the hump.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 4 requires five (5) players who will gather 35 or more Rebounds, which means your lineup will need an average of 7.0 REB per player. There are only 6 teams in action today, but there are plenty of players who are projected to accumulate well above the per person threshold. So long as you have a couple of these players in your lineup, today should be a breeze (barring any in-game injuries). Unless you’re pushing for a top 50 daily finish or looking to maximize your rankings for the overall, you won’t need the top five available rebounders in your lineup today. Be extra vigilant about checking injury reports in case someone in your lineup is out unexpectedly considering all three games have an identical start time.

  • Board Crashers: Rudy Gobert, Victor Wembanyama, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Deandre Ayton, Nikola Vucevic, Walker Kessler

  • Top Five (5) in Lineups: D. Ayton (83%), N. Vucevic (78%), R. Gobert (78%), B. Portis (47%), W. Kessler (41%)

Upcoming Objective(s):

  • Tomorrow, 45 field goals made are needed and there are 26 teams in action

  • After today, here are the remaining objectives:

    • 2x: AST, FGM

    • 1x: PIP, OREB, BLK, STL, Fouls Drawn, 3PA, PTS, FTM, 3PM, REB

Considerations:

  • Chicago & San Antonio are playing the tail end of a back-to-back; both teams were blown out yesterday

  • Least number of games remaining (3): Charlotte & Denver

  • Most number of games remaining (6): Minnesota

  • Day 11 only has two teams in action (DAL & UTA) - their last game of this run

  • Charlotte’s last game of this run will take place on Day 9

  • Boston, Milwaukee, & Portland’s last game of this run will take place on Day 10

  • Day 6, 8, & 11 all have less than or equal to 10 teams in action

  • Day 5, 7, 9, 10, & 12 all have 20 or more teams in action

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected Rebounds according to Rotowire, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. Although 10 games have not been played, all teams have played between 6-9 games so the sample size is relevant. As the season progresses, true Last 10 will be incorporated. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Rewards:

  • Daily Reward: Top 50 each day will receive a pack

  • Milestone Reward: Reach 3, 6, or 9 wins and each tier earns you a pack

  • Run Reward: Place in the top 200 overall

    • Rank 1: Two (2) tickets to an NBA game including airfare and hotel

    • Rank 2-200: Spendable credit at varying values

Tome Society’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Day 3 came down to the wire, but we squeaked by with a win, which is our second overall. Objective is 6 wins, but stretch goal is 9 which remains a possibility.
