NBA Fast Break Run 2 | Day 5

Pick 5 Players who will combine for 45 Field Goals Made to earn your win.

Overview:

Day 4 turned out to be relative duds for two players who were used heavily in many lineups. Vooch was utilized in 76% of lineups and he responded with his lowest rebounding output of the season. Ayton, on the other hand, was used in 79% of lineups and delivered 10 rebounds (8 of 9 games with 10 or more rebounds this season). Speaking of Deandre, his rare and legendary moments are one of the most inexpensive on the platform relative to what he offers in Fast Break ($10 rare and 6 lego moments priced under $120). He’s averaging 14.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, (3.1 offensive), & 12.2 points in the paint, which is solid for those respective objectives (erhem, Day 6). The X Factor of yesterday, though, was Giannis who chipped in a monster 16 rebound performance (his second 16 rebound performance of the season) and carried many teams - especially if they included Vooch in their lineup alongside Giannis. With Giannis hogging all the rebounds, Portis scratched and clawed his way to 6 rebounds (51% of lineups). Overall, it was a positive day for most Fast Break participants as 58% came away with a win.

Today is another single stat day, but 6 of 7 remaining days will require two objectives. Even if you have a single win, you still have a chance at that top pack. Obviously four win ups your chances, but we are early enough in this run where we are unsure how the remaining days will play out. Check back regularly to ensure you have your best lineup possible by checking injuries, matchups, and our daily articles for projections.

Today’s Objective(s):

Fast Break Day 5 requires five (5) players who will make 45 or more Field Goals, which means your lineup will need an average of 9.0 FGM per player. There are 26 teams in action today, so you have plenty of players to choose from, but this threshold is sneaky difficult. Bona fide scorers like SGA & Luka have made a maximum of 12 FGM this season, so your wiggle room is minuscule unless you have five true scorers in your lineup. Many of these top-end scorers have also had a game where they only made 6 FGMs, so it will come down to 1) whether the game remains close (no blowouts), 2) players remain healthy, and 3) avoiding off-nights from more than one player in your lineup.

  • Walking Buckets: Jalen Brunson, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum, Nikola Jokic, LaMelo Ball, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant

  • Top Five (5) in Lineups: N. Jokic (50%), B. Ingram (41%), A. Edwards (40%), SGA (39%), J. Brunson (36%)

Upcoming Objective(s):

  • Tomorrow, 35 Points in the Paint & 10 Offensive Rebounds are needed and there are only 8 teams in action

  • After today, here are the remaining objectives:

    • 2x: AST

    • 1x: PIP, OREB, BLK, STL, Fouls Drawn, 3PA, PTS, FTM, 3PM, REB, FGM

Considerations:

  • Milwaukee & Minnesota are playing the tail end of a back-to-back; both teams won yesterday

  • Least number of games remaining (3): Charlotte, Denver, & Utah

  • Most number of games remaining (5): 13 Teams

  • Day 11 only has two teams in action (DAL & UTA) - their last game of this run

  • Charlotte’s last game of this run will take place on Day 9

  • Boston, Milwaukee, & Portland’s last game of this run will take place on Day 10

  • Day 6, 8, & 11 all have less than or equal to 10 teams in action

  • Day 7, 9, 10, & 12 all have 20 or more teams in action

Statistical Approach:

Top players in projected Field Goals Made according to Rotowire, which is available in the table(s) below. Overall rank is based on daily projections, last 10 games, and rest of season projections, which stack ranked amongst peers for each objective. Although 10 games have not been played, all teams have played between 6-9 games so the sample size is relevant. As the season progresses, true Last 10 will be incorporated. Omission of certain players would be based on injuries at the time of data pull.

Rewards:

  • Daily Reward: Top 50 each day will receive a pack

  • Milestone Reward: Reach 3, 6, or 9 wins and each tier earns you a pack

  • Run Reward: Place in the top 200 overall

    • Rank 1: Two (2) tickets to an NBA game including airfare and hotel

    • Rank 2-200: Spendable credit at varying values

Tome Society’s Fast Break Line-Up (Commons Only Challenge):

Many Fast Break participants do not have an extensive collection of rare or legendary moments, so they are limited to single use commons. Even with a limited lineup, participants have found a way to reach the maximum rewards. Follow along as Tome Society participates in Fast Break without using any player more than once - in both our success and failures.

Day 4 ended with our 3rd win and officially secures the first pack. Objective is 6 wins so we’re two wins away, but stretch goal is 9 which remains a possibility.
