NBA Fast Break Run 2 | Day 9
Pick 5 Players who will combine for 130 Points Scored to earn your win.
Overview:
With about 90% of Fast Break participants earning a win on Day 8, it was easily the most successful day of this run and may be the momentum shift many will need to close out this series. So long as you have at least five (5) wins, you still have a chance at securing the top pack reward. With today’s objective focused on points (but not as many points as Day 2), it feels like the win is within reach…so long as your lineup shows up. With 11 games on today’s slate, you won’t be short on player options to choose from, but the number of true scorers are limited and your lineup options likely depends on how well you planned ahead. This will be the last time points are measured during this run, so be sure to include reliable scoring options in your lineup today.
Although Karl-Anthony Towns is projected to score about 22 points and has averaged 25 points on the season, he has scored over 30 points in three straight games so recency bias explains why he is the most heavily utilized in lineups today. On the other hand, Giannis is projected to be the highest scorer of the day and has exceeded 30 points in 6 of his first 9 games whereas his counterpart Damian Lillard has exceeded 25 points in 6 of his last 10 games, but it is worth noting that he has had two straight games where he did not crest 20 points. In the past 10 games, Jayson Tatum has exceeded 25 points in 9 of 10 games, LaMelo in 8 of 10, Luka in 7 of 10, Ant in 4 of 10, and Brunson in 4 of 10.With Kevin Durant sidelined for the next two weeks, Devin Booker is projected to have a high scoring day, but he has exceeded 25 points only 3 of 10 times this season. Lastly, Curry, Embiid, & Jaylen Brown have the capability to deliver a high scoring day, but they are less predictable considering their recent injuries (Embiid is expected to make his season debut today).
If you include many of the players above, you’ll want each to at least stay close to the 26.0 points scored threshold (but ideally much higher). If, however, you have a player who has an awful shooting day (or sits for an extended amount of time due to a blowout), it could sink your chances at a win today unless they are balanced out by high scoring performance. It may be another borderline day where you could sneak over the line or fall a hair shy (again), so buckle up and stay tuned. Based on the way this run has gone, I doubt we’ll see another 90% win day, but it’ll be great if it happens. Either way, maximize your win potential by setting a strong lineup filled with reliable scorers.
